I'm not seeing the value of this batch export since each NEF will require different settings to make it look optimal: Ie. Saturation, white balance setting(that was set), tones, etc.as if I had the camera in JPEG shooting format? I don't know if I am interpreting this correctly and I don't think I am, and if that's true. I'm not sure I understand what this means - are you referring that somehow during the format conversion, the application will apply any default Nikon image formatting to the file in terms of image characteristics? Ie. Just for my clarification, when converting from NEF to JPG file format, you mentioned that NX-D can apply all my camera settings to the exported format.
On that note, was is the best way for me to convert RAW to JPG in a large batch? Lesson learned - before going on vacation to double and even triple check the settings and do a dry run. NX-D can apply all your camera settings or adjust all images to your taste, and convert to to jpeg to a folder of your choosing. Using Nikon NX-D (free download) the File > Run Batch Process option can be used to perform the same image adjustments on all pictures in a selected folder and then export the processed images in a selected file format. I could just do a mass conversion of NEF to JPG, but then my pictures would not look optimal since there is no processing done to them.
This is a pain in the butt as now I have to process all my NEF files and save to JPG so that I can upload to Flickr. I had thought that I had the D500 setting to record RAW in my secondary slot, and JPG into my primary, but unfortunately, I must have made mistake and forgot to set the picture format to NEF+JPEG Fine, so all I got was all NEF for both cards.
